 Through the darkness [open]

Kali

It was night once more in Ignate lands. Everything was peaking around in the fog making the place even more dangerous than it already was. The birds have disappeared to find safety in the darkness of the trees. Woodland creatures of the every day even vanished into holes in the ground to let the nightmare crawlers creep about. Crocks were awake and hunted as the beavers couldn't be seen in their damns or even on "dry" land.

The place was darker than usual because there was no moon or start to be found. Above the lands was blackening clouds that rumbled before as flashing light burned through the trees. The crawlers started to hide for cover since it seemed that this storm will become nasty. The place was dead silent expect for lonely paws padding about. They belonged to the Alphess of Ignate.

Her dark coat turned her invisible when the lightening flash vanished from the heavens. She was slow moving since there was no where she had to be. Her pack was fine and, as she knows of, is well full. There was no need to hunt. Kali sighed as the rain started to pour. The heavens cried harshly and didn't give a sign of letting up. She gazed up and felt her paws sink into the ground. If in the wrong place the ground could become dangerous. Lightning flashed, creating light through the woods for only a few seconds. Kali picked up her pace to a dash. She needed to get towards the den sight.

With her jaws agape she panted lightly trying to keep her paws from getting stuck in the mud. Her paws slammed into a deep puddle sending water and mud all over the front of her figure. She leaped out and darted off as she appeared and disappeared in the woods. Her pace slowed as she reached the den site. Soaking wet and muddy, she padded slowly and noticed that even the driest part of the territory was now soaked with mud. Her ears pulled back. There was no escape in their storm. Without the trees the clearing will become just as muddy for days. Her pace slowed even more she as reached the fallen tree. With one swift leap she was ontop of it gazing up and letting the rain fall against her.

Anubis was currently residing within the hollowed out tunnel of the fallen tree. When it had begun to rain he simply waited it out, but as the rain began to fall even harder, he took cover. He was currently licking up the mud from his paws when a small thud was heard from the roof of the tree trunk.

He raised his purple eyes skyward before poking his head out into the rain. On top, Anubis could see Kali gazing up as the rain fell. It soaked her completely. Her wild, black mane was plastered to her face.

"Alphess," he called out," there is enough room in here for two, if you're looking for a small reprieve from the down pour." His dark fur on his head was soaked by now, but his pearly white smile was wide. "I don't mind sharing," he said.

Kali glanced back to find Anubis there. "Oh, I didn't expect you to be here." she answered him as she stood there, thinking. It wasn't on the subject whether or not to join him but that he was there. She pulled her ears forward and started to step down. The water was getting through some of her thicker fur and she could really start to feel the rain now. Her paws stood still on the fallen tree as she shook herself. More water flew in different directions before she hopped down to crawl inside to join Anubis.

Her soaked to death mane dripped water as she snuggled into herself. It was dry and warmer than it was outside. "Thank-you." she told him softly as she pulled her ears down. It was with the lack of space between the sides that made her uncomfortable. She gazed around before resting her head on her paws. Thunder roared outside after lightning lit up the place. Her eyes closed half way as water dripped from her fur.

((I'm really sorry I've been gone so long. I've been really sick))

Anubis wiggled his large body further into the large hollowed out tree trunk, giving the Alphess room. He shook his large head, sending droplets of water everywhere within the trunk. The large brute gave Kali an apologetic and sheepish smile. "My apologies," he said, curling up. It was much warmer inside than it was out.

"Were you really planning on just standing out there? To get soaked? You could get sick if you keep that up," he said, reprimanding the Alphess. He had become protective of her and her health, like an older brother.
