They were in love, blissfully happy, star-crossed lovers. The first, a beautiful purebred, bred for linage of perfection. Carolina was a most elegant Golden Retriever-- and with beauty comes a life of ease. She lived within the midst of her human breeder, known far and wide for her beautiful bloodlines. She had no worries, no stress, no reason to look back on life.

Then along came he. A mutt, mongrel, with a heritage contaminated with mixed breeds. Even worse, half of the blood that pulsated through his veins was that of a wolf. A wolfdog, trained by the calling of Solli, so handsome that it charmed dear Carolina's presence. Upon first meet, their love was forbidden... but neither was one to play by the rules.

It was a shock to both when Carolina became pregnant. Her secret was safe with Solli... Until Tyse, a mutt of many lines captured the knowledge of their forbidden feat. Turning the two lovers against each other was only the beginning of this sadistic hound's sequence of cruel actions. He told Carolina that Solli had spilled her secret to him, lying between his teeth as her heart split in two at the betrayal she thought he had thrust upon her. Angered by this, Carolina abandoned Solli, putting a wall up between them.

And that was the end of their horribly beautiful love.

Carolina gave birth to two still born puppies, and one that died shortly thereafter. Weakened from the death of her offspring and love of her life, she began her new start. She formed a pack, Elinqul, with other domestic dogs such as herself. She was against Solli and any of his bloodlines.

Solli, on the other hand, confused by Carolina's sudden change in attitude, formed a pack of his own to defend against Carolina's domesticated army. Their love eventually f a d e d a w a y completely...

The future is now the present. Carolina felt she was in gratitude towards Tyse, and her pack Elinqul was on friendly terms with his Iryokou. Another pack, Mastyce, rose up, inspired by their leader Askye's strong feelings towards the lies that were spread between the three packs. She became aware that without the rivalry and lies that packs sparked, there would be no more tension. So, she made it her mission to form a single society amongst the dogs, through Mastyce. Sympathizing with Croedam and their leader, Askye and Solli's pack became allies.

And the tension in Verscai could be cut with a claw...
