Alpha: The leader of the pack and the strongest male, he gets to eat first and makes major decisions concerning the pack.
Alphess: The mate of the Alpha, she is usually either very agile or very strong, and eats second. She helps her mate decide on pack issues.
Beta: Deputy of the pack, s/he helps the Alphas and makes sure everyone is in line while they work out issues within the pack.
Delta: Deputy apprentice who will become the beta once the beta dies or moves up to the rank of alpha.
Guardian General: Leader of the guardians and watches their training and mentoring of the apprentices.
Guardians: Special elite fighting force. They are only called upon in emergencies.
Warrior General: Leader of the warriors and watches their training and mentoring of the apprentices

Warriors: Regular fighting force.
Scouts: Scout area and alert alphas of danger, as well as renew the scent markers.
Caretaker: Medicine wolf who can speak to the deceased wolves of the pack.
Subordinates: Members who do not have a higher or lower rank.
Apprentices: Pups old enough to be trained. Any who join the pack who are not already ranked have to go through this rank first.
Mothers: Wolves with pups/expecting pups.
Pup-Sitter(s): Watch the pups.
Pups: ... pups. 'Nuff said.
Elders: Older wolves. They are generally the story tellers that pass along the lore to the younger ones.
Omega: Lowest rank, last to eat, and gets to deal with the frustrations of others. |
